Based in Northern California, Antoine Chaya has an extensive background in IT technologies and financial services. He was part of the team that powered Oracle Corporation’s extended growth in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Antoine Chaya held a consultancy role with the firm in Atlanta prior to joining its Silicon Valley headquarters.
In the late 1980s, Mr. Chaya earned an MBA at the Georgia Institute of Technology with a focus on management. He completed a PhD in information technology management at the Atlanta school in 997, joining Oracle a year before receiving his doctorate.
Mr. Chaya’s output while a postgraduate student included the paper "Analyzing Cost-Effectiveness of Organizations: The Impact of Information Technology” (Journal of Management Information Systems, 1996). Antoine Chaya and his coauthor surveyed around 400 medium- to large-sized companies and discovered that higher IT investments generally translated into lower production costs and lower average total costs. At the same time, these investments tended to result in higher overhead costs.
